New computing center and migration services website

The Center for Computing and Technological Education will improve our students’ learning.

Students from mechanical-electrical engineering and physics-mathematics programs collaborated to create this website.

The School of Law and Criminology opened the Center for Computing and Technological Education with modern spaces that will improve our students’ learning. These areas offer different technological services and provide wireless Internet access through high-tech equipment.

The website was created by UANL students from mechanical-electrical engineering, physics-mathematics, and information technology programs.

Some of the benefits the Center for Computing and Technological Education offers are:

• Computer borrowing
• Classrooms with advanced equipment
• Remote education area with technical support for online platforms
• Virtual classroom to make digital resources for online, traditional, and blended learning
• Computer forensics laboratory with the newest technological trends in criminal investigation

A website to help migrants

As part of the opening, the School of Law and Criminology also launched a migration services website: www.facdyc.net. On this website, the school offers free services such as migrant regularization and change of migratory status, among others.

Dean Oscar Lugo stated that they have three legal clinics that advise on migration, criminal, and family matters. “The idea is to be tech-friendly to the population. We’ve already worked with migrants to help them in different situations”, he said.

Furthermore, migrants can make appointments online to receive help for several procedures and free legal counseling, or chat with professionals.

President Rogelio Garza was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and praised the school for its empathy towards migrants. He also noted the importance of the new website in the issue of migration.
