Alondra Fraustro, a UANL- born Rising Star.
When Alondra Fraustro Cardiel began her career as a science communicator and environmental educator, she had a clear objective: to bring science to every corner of the world.
Three years have been enough to make her dream come true. Thanks to her enterprise Ciencia Mágica, the former student of Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon achieved international recognition due to the multiple awards she has received in her short career as a scientist.
On April 21, Fraustro Cardiel received her most recent recognition by Global in Miami. She was awarded the Women That Build in the Rising Star category.
In this edition, Women That Build brought together more than 1,800 nominations, 1,100 candidates, and 110,000 votes, with the participation of 70 international judges.
“One of the experiences I had during 2022 was to visit the United Kingdom. Thanks to a scholarship I was able to present my project there, and when I did so, I was able to connect with people from other parts of the world and that is how I applied for the award I received in Miami,” said Fraustro Cardiel.
Alondra, through Ciencia Mágica, was the only representative from Mexico at this award. This initiative seeks to foster the leadership of women who are starting a career in the STEM industry, generating a positive impact through their innovations.
As a science communicator, the graduate of the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon has given more than 50 lectures at local, national, and international levels to institutions and corporations. She also has an active community of more than 150 thousand followers on social networks, where she shares content on science and sustainability issues.
“Every day I realize that there are many things to discover and I believe that we can achieve this through science: innovate, continue researching to create projects of impact,” said the science communicator, a graduate of the UANL School of Biological Sciences.
Alondra Fraustro’s entrepreneurship has been awarded by Vital Voices and Procter and Gamble (P&G) in the contest “Voices that Inspire”, as well as being recognized as one of the most impactful ideas by the Women Economic Forum.
