Leadership Grounded in Excellence: Santos Guzmán López begins second term
Upon being sworn in as UANL President, he affirmed that during his tenure, he would uphold the pursuit of academic excellence, institutional consolidation, inclusion, and openness to innovation.
With the aim of renewing his academic and institutional commitment to Vision 2040, Santos Guzman Lopez assumed the Lead of Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL) for a second term, spanning 2024 to 2027.
During the Solemn Ceremony of the Honorable University Senate, held at the University Theater on October 25, Guzman Lopez was sworn in by the H. Board of Governors, presided over by its president, Benjamin Limon Rodriguez.
After assuming leadership of the Maximum Academic Institution of Nuevo Leon, the university executive reaffirmed his commitment to academic excellence, institutional consolidation, inclusion, and innovation.
He also assured that he would work collaboratively with the university community to establish UANL as one of the best academic institutions in Mexico and the world.

Meeting today’s expectations: A commitment to Progress
At the ceremony, the UANL President affirmed that the institution will continue to advance the expansion and accessibility of educational coverage, aiming to bring the university closer to all young people in the state while maintaining academic programs focused on achieving quality and educational excellence.
With the aim of ensuring that no young person is left without the opportunity to study at the University, he assured that the number of scholarships and support for students will continue to increase. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of promoting the human and professional development of faculty and administrative staff, optimizing their working conditions, and supporting their academic and personal growth.
