Mexican College Football Showcase
The Mexican College Football Showcase between Autenticos Tigres and Borregos Salvajes will be held as part of the celebrations for the 90th anniversary of UANL and the 80th anniversary of ITESM Monterrey.
Friday, September 8 will go down in the history of university sports in Mexico since UANL President Santos Guzman Lopez accepted the proposal of ITESM Monterrey authorities to celebrate, in the city of Houston, Texas, the football match between the Borregos Salvajes and the Autenticos Tigres. This event will be part of the first round of the National Student American Football League.
Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon and Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey will be the first Mexican college teams to play an official game outside of Mexico. The event will be called the Mexican College Football Showcase (MCFS) and will be held at NRG Stadium, home of the Houston Texans, a National Football League professional team.
A joint celebration
Santos Guzman Lopez expressed his gratitude to the authorities of ITESM Monterrey for the invitation to jointly celebrate the 90th anniversary of UANL and the 80th anniversary of ITESM Monterrey.
It is a celebration, a long-awaited match, but above all, we agree that sports are a fundamental part of the integral development of students since they help them psychologically and emotionally, and we also know that they offer them the opportunity to face daily situations in better conditions”.
