UANL pianists from victory to victory all over the world
In the last year the piano students of Professor Antonina Dragan, from the UANL School of Music, have won competitions in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Israel, Canada, Russia, United Kingdom, and Mexico.
Despite the pandemic and the fact that piano competition formats were virtual, Barbara Prado, Jorge Angel Rodriguez, Marien Femerling, and Miranda Lemoine, have won multiple awards on three different continents.
Piano students from the School of Music (FAMUS), under the guidance of Dr. Antonina Dragan, have won first places and awards in piano competitions held in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Israel, the United States, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
In an interview, the coordinator of the Piano Department for the last three decades commented that this past year they have made a much greater effort than other years, because her piano students have distractions at home, and she could not appreciate the fine details of the teaching-learning process.
“We are proud of the achievements. We were able to take teaching to another level despite the pandemic given that no interaction is possible. The sound quality is important, the playing, and the pedal is very important” commented Dr. Dragan.
