On March 17, 2020, the authorities of the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon came to a decision that changed the way the University plans, designs, and implements its academic programs. With the first signs of the COVID-19 pandemic, the outlook for the state was bleak. It was still unclear how to deal with the health contingency that was affecting the world. Despite that, UANL announced that all academic and administrative activities would be suspended on that day.
The challenge in the educational field was tremendous since the UANL community is currently made up of more than 216,000 students. UANL is the third-largest university in the country, with more than 7,000 professors and more than 7,000 administrative staff.
The core challenge.
Once the UANL Digital Strategy was designed, the main challenge for the institution was to train the more than 7,000 professors who are part of the University.
A hybrid model will now be the standard.
Rogelio Garza Rivera stated that he has not boarded a plane for a year. He also commented that thanks to this new normal and the digital era, he has held national and international events to analyze the new models of pedagogy in a post-Covid era.
