UANL attracts international talent

A total of 43 students from foreign universities have joined 74 students from the country in opting to join the Maximum Academic Institution in the State for an academic exchange program.

Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon warmly received 117 students from eight countries and various universities in Mexico. The official ceremony was presided over by UANL President Santos Guzman Lopez.

In his welcome message to the students, Guzman Lopez emphasized that UANL aims to play a central role in educational programs by fostering connections with national and international universities.

Our study plans include internships that complement the double-degree structure. In other words, students split their degrees between two universities, with half completed elsewhere and the remaining portion at our institution. This offers a significant advantage for comprehensive preparation. This process aligns with the mobility objectives sought by all universities, and at UANL, we have implemented it to facilitate seamless transitions.

Testimonials

The ceremony featured the testimonials of students Lesley Esperanza Reyes Soto from Universidad San Sebastian de Chile, who studied at the UANL School of Physical Education, and Lessly Badilla Acosta from Universidad Autonoma de Sonora, who shared her experience as an exchange student at the UANL School of Civil Engineering.

The students emphasized the diverse artistic, cultural, and sports activities available to new students as valuable complements to their academic training.

It was a semester where I had the opportunity to explore the city and participate in various activities promoted by the School of Physical Education. From a sports perspective, it has been enriching to delve into the planning and execution of major events. While the academic aspect is impressive, the extracurricular activities provide valuable learning experiences and the opportunity to form lasting friendships. This is a unique opportunity that should not be missed – make the most of it!

Badilla Acosta mentioned that the academic excellence of UANL and its top-notch facilities were the reasons why she decided to pursue her mobility in the School of Civil Engineering.

She also shared that she gradually overcame the fear of leaving her “comfort zone,” and the most effective approach was to actively participate in all the activities offered by the institution.
