UANL CEIIDA to Award Residency Grants
Research projects in the fields of arts and ideas must be undertaken throughout 6 to 12 weeks by creators, researchers, or cultural professionals of French nationality.
UANL Center for Research, Innovation, and Development of Arts will host French artists and researchers through the international residency grant in Monterrey, focusing on “Art and Design, Books and Ideas, Cinema and Series, Museums and Heritage, Music, and Digital Creation, Performing Art”.
The call for applications opened on July 15 and will close on August 31. The residency will run from April to November 2025, with a duration of 6 to 12 weeks.
During this period, according to the organizing institutions, the scholarship recipients will be required to travel through the region and engage with its key figures to foster original artistic or intellectual reflections. This type of residency is essentially conceived as a form of field research.
Through these alliances and projects, the University aims to enhance its student population’s engagement with research.
Requirements
Interested applicants must submit either a proposal specifically designed for the residency program or a research project that was already in progress before their arrival in Monterrey.
These projects must be linked to the issues of the territory being explored and should facilitate a dialogue with local stakeholders.
Institutional Support
The organizing institutions will assist the resident in assessing the material and logistical needs required for the successful completion of their project. Additionally, they will cover travel and living expenses related to the residency:
- A residency grant to cover daily expenses, including meals and local transportation.
- International and domestic travel.
- Accommodation
The residency program specifies that residents cannot bring their families to the state.
Scholarship recipients must also commit to dedicating one week, as scheduled by the organizing institutions, to participate in an activity proposed by them—such as a conference, colloquium, exhibition, or workshops with students—at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon.
