UANL community learns about global security

Eight UANL security experts were trained in the Global Security: Terrorism and Organized Crime program, offered by specialists from Peru, Colombia, Israel, and Mexico.

Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon hosted for the first time the Global Security: Terrorism and Organized Crime training program, in which security professionals from the University received in-depth instruction on the subject.

The event was held from May 29 to June 1 at the University Library “Raúl Rangel Frías”, with the participation of 20 experts from Peru, Colombia, Israel, and Mexico.

We must be ready

Although acts of terrorism may not occur in Mexico in public and private universities, it is the duty of those in charge of security at institutions of higher education to be ready for any event.

“The social changes force us to be updated on what is happening globally, nationally, and locally. It is our responsibility to be ready since the prevention and protection unit at the University is the first response to a critical situation”.

David Ivan Gomez Velazquez

Prevention efforts at all levels

The Global Security: Terrorism and Organized Crime program was attended by around 70 security officers from other universities in the state, private companies, and heads of municipal and state security, among other participants.

The event was co-organized by Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Reichman University, and the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism.
