UANL Introduces pioneering Electromobility programs

During the second edition of the International Mobility of the Future Summit, UANL President Santos Guzman announced that UANL has developed new educational programs aimed at supporting the electromobility strategy in the State.

Leaders from the technology and mobility sectors gathered for the opening of the International Mobility of the Future Summit (IMOF) 2024, held at Cintermex’s A and B halls.

IMOF 2024, hosted by the Government of Nuevo León in partnership with Nuevo León 4.0 and the Automotive Cluster of Nuevo León, is recognized as Mexico’s premier mobility platform. It brings together key players from the public, private, and academic sectors, facilitating knowledge transfer and experience exchange to advance the future of mobility in Mexico.

Ivan Rivas Rodriguez, Minister of Economy in Nuevo Leon, highlighted UANL’s significant contribution by expanding its academic offerings at both secondary and higher education levels. This expansion aims to address the demands of the automotive industry and meet the needs arising from nearshoring.

UANL will integrate two new high school programs into its training scheme: Electromobility and Mechatronics, along with Artificial Intelligence. At the higher education level, the university will offer degrees in Electromobility Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, and Business Administration”.

IMOF NL Second Edition

“Why are we hosting the IMOF in Nuevo León? Because we want to showcase our state’s progress toward becoming an electromobility hub in Latin America. We also aim to learn from global specialists and identify where we should concentrate our efforts with the Government,” explained Iván Rivas Rodríguez.

NL is the absolute leader in electromobility – Samuel García

Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda announced that 120 companies from 15 countries will participate in the International Mobility of the Future Summit 2024. The event will be held in a 5,000-square-meter space, actively involving entrepreneurs, investors, and universities.

“This government, which began three years ago, has dedicated significant energy to promoting Nuevo León globally, which is why we’ve undertaken numerous tours to Asia and Europe. We are actively showcasing the state’s strengths, and today, Nuevo León is the undisputed leader in electromobility,” he emphasized.
