UANL now also works on education for Mexican immigrants
Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon joins Consorcio de Instituciones de Educacion Superior para el Desarrollo Educativo de las Personas Mexicanas en el Exterior (CIESDEMEX).
The Government of Mexico and 43 Mexican higher education institutions (HEIs) join efforts to strengthen the universal right to education of Mexicans living abroad.
On February 2, in the city of Puebla, Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon and other institutions from 22 states in the country, agreed to be part of the Consortium of Higher Education Institutions for the Educational Development of Mexican People Abroad (CIESDEMEX).
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, hosted the event, at which the UANL President, Santos Guzman Lopez, was also present. The Mexican Foreign Minister noted the efforts, primarily, to ease the educational processes of Mexican citizens in the United States.
“Mexico is the country with the second-highest number of immigrants in the globe, after India. In addition, the Mexico-US corridor is the largest on the planet. Moreover, Mexico is the third-largest recipient of migrants in the world, after India and just below China,” stated the Mexican Minister of Public Education.
