Academic
- Have successfully completed high school studies

- Those established by UANL current standards and procedures
Testing
- Students must take the Admission Test EXANI-II, established by the National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CENEVAL), and obtain the minimum passing score as indicated by the school.
- Diagnosis and selection module of the School of Agronomy.

Areas | Job Description |
Research Centres | • Basic Laboratory activities such as microbial cultures, plant tissues, traceability standards, purification, and biomolecules (nucleic acids, proteins, and secondary metabolites) for further investigation and development of vegetable products. • Genetic improvement using biotechnological methods of plant species. • Development of Vaccines, improvement of animal health, growth differences using molecular skills and biotechnological tools. • Food processing using classic biotechnology (fermentation) and modern biotechnology (recombinant DNA). • Use of live organisms as an alternative for the treatment of agricultural residues to prevent environmental pollution. |
Science Education and Technology Centres | • Improve farming systems using biotechnology. • Food processing using classic biotechnology (fermentation) and modern biotechnology (recombinant DNA). • Predict how contaminanting agents will behave in terrestrial and aquatic environments which affects public health. |
Food processing systems | • Basic Laboratory activities such as microbial cultures, plant tissues, traceability standards, purification, and biomolecules (nucleic acids, proteins, and secondary metabolites) for further investigation and development of vegetable products. • Identify plant diseases. • Enzyme application in order to improve digestive tracts of animals. • Produce foods of high nutritional quality, raw materials as colorants, artificial flavors, and enzymes. • Bio-remediation for contaminated sites and preservation of ecosystems. |
Biotechnology Centres | • Consultants in every area of knowledge described above. • Distribution of new biotechnology products aimed at innovating food production systems. • Spokespersons with training to provide information to society about new products. • Diagnose. • Create employment through their own business. |
Graduation requirements
Academic
- Have successfully completed 241 academic credits.
- Having successfully completed a minimum of 9 semesters (4.5 years) or a maximum of 18 semesters (9 years).
- Having complied with compulsory social service.
- A graduate must prove proficiency in a second language.
